My sister called me the other day and said she had an idea for me! I'm always down so she went on about little donut hole snowmen. After my intial confusion she described her vision and I set off to see if we could make it happen.
Powdered Sugar Donut Holes: for the body-I sued cake donut holes and rolled them in powdered (confectioners) sugar
Orange Skittle:or any small orange candy: for the nose (my daughter insisted I use Skittles-I think she just wanted to eat the rest of them)
Twizzler: the pull and peel kind: for the scarf
Black decorating gel: for eyes and buttons
Toothpicks:to hold it all together
Mini thin mints: part of the top hat
Recess Peanut Butter Cup:finish top of top hat
With all of the materials ready the kiddos and I set out to tackle this project. We decided the snowmen could hangout next to the gingerbread house we built on Christmas Eve when we were finished.
Needless to say these didn't quite come out the way we expected, however, in this case the process was way more important than the product. We had a ball!!!
What holiday edible crafts do you and your family try? Leave me a note and let me know. I'd love to try some more this year or next!
