WELCOME HOME! I have moved to 3 new homes in the last 10 years. We even built 2 of the 3 and we never had a housewarming party. I've had a few friends and family move recently and that got me thinking about throwing a housewarming party.
Here are some ideas that could be used to have a memorable housewarming shindig!
You can always go with pre-printed invites from sites such as Zazzle.com or Etsy.com, which will allow you to buy a downloadable invitation you can send out electronically or printable. You can also go with my personal favorite a DIY invitation. A few paint chips and a sharpie and invitations are done!
Of course you are just moving in so who has time for decorations? Don't be in a rush to fully furnish your place or hang every picture you own. Just be sure your place has a few pictures out, candles always make a space feel cozy and some greenery will look great as well.
This is probably one of the most important parts of the housewarming party. Oh, who am I kidding? For me, food is the most important part of any party :) Finger Foods are the perfect housewarming snacks!
Drinks aren't a necessity but a great way to add a little something extra and different to your party. Don't worry if you aren't a wine connoisseur. Simple wines and champagnes will do just fine.
It only seems fitting that you get your guests a little thank you for coming and celebrating your new home with you. Here are some ideas.
If you are up for games and want your guests to do more than mingle here are some games that might fit your plan.
