ALOHA!! I love decorating tables for parties. I mean I love all things parties but planning out table set ups are fun for me! Here is a Moanna themed party table I did at a trampoline park. I got most of the supplies from Party City but some I had from a previous Lua Party I did for my nieces. I was really proud of how this table turned out and judging by the look on his face he is too! It's my birthday and I'll party if I want to!!! Over the years I have had some fun parties and this year was no different. This year for my birthday party we had a pajama game night! We had so much fun laughing and playing games we could have been up all night! Everything was pretty simple this year! Here is what I did... DecorationsSince we were having a game night I used games in a lot of the decorations. The tables were decorated with games and UNO card centerpieces. I also used UNO cards for hanging decorations. Photo Area- A Twister mat was used for the backdrop, giant dice with board games on top and completed with photo props! Food FOOD-Glorious FoodFor the food this year we went simple with some pizza and rotell (meat and cheese dip best eaten with nacho chips). BUT we also had some yummy desserts. Brownie dice-store bought brownies piped with icing to look like dice, chocolate covered pretzels (YUMM! Oreo and Butterfinger). Jaylah made an amazing birthday cake with a baker friend of ours. She made a lemon, strawberry cream cake checker board cake! It was so delicious. GAMEsWhen it came to games the sky was the limit. We had so many games to choose from. We started with a game for adults called Black Card Revoked. Then the kids joined us for a game of Heads Up. We played a game of Hashtag It and ended with some Nintendo Switch Just Dance and Mario Kart! I had an amazing time celebrating with family and friends! Thanks to everyone who helped make my birthday special!!! Until next year...
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! If you are anything like me you have decked the halls and the kitchen and maybe even the kids rooms! We have many Christmas traditions that keep us busy during one of my favorite times of the year. One of our favorite December traditions is the Advent Calendar. What's Advent?Advent comes from the the Latin word adventus meaning arrival or coming. The Hebrews looked forward to the coming of a Savior-The First Advent, Now, we are waiting expectantly for His return-the Second Advent. Traditionally, Advent counts down the four weeks leading up to Christmas. Many families do this in many different ways. HOw We CelebrateOur advent calendar is a shoe hanger for a door. You can get them from Amazon, Target or Walmart. I got mine from At Home a few years ago. There are 24 pockets on the hanger so it is perfect. In the past I have bought small trinkets for the kids to open each day. I wrap my daughter's items in green tissue paper and my son's in red tissue paper. Both of my kids love socks. So this year they are opening a new pair of fun socks each night. Each night before we open the presents we read a scripture. Some years all the scriptures were about God's love or us and other years they were about His goodness to us. This year we are reading through the Christmas story in the book of Luke. Here are some pics of our calendar. More Advent ideasHere are some Advent ideas-from super simple DIY to more complex and can be bought at the store. Hope you found some fun ways to countdown to Christmas! Just one more way to make this season even more special!
How do you countdown to Christmas? I'd love to hear how you celebrate the holiday season! There is nothing better than a night of giggling with the girls or playing video games with the guys. When I was younger my sister and I had sleepovers with friends all the time. It was such a fun way to stay close with friends and spend time with them without life getting in the way. Once I was older I planned sleepovers for the younger groups of friends at my church. Now, as mama I love planning sleepovers for my kids and their friends and cousins. My daughter and her bestie are going into 7th grade and have been friends since Kindergarten. I planned a sleepover for them that hopefully showed them how much I love them and also gave them some much needed girl time before school started. Here are some ideas for a great BBF Sleepover. set up a photo booth area"Say Cheese!" Don't forget to capture the moments! The best thing I did was buy a Polaroid camera. They take the best little mini photos that are great for keepsakes. Set up a food BarEasy finger foods are the best. Food bars can be fun to set up and area easy for guests to be able to snack all night! Get Crafty or down right wildKeep kiddos busy and having a blast with these fun activities. Relax with a movie and maybe sleepWhen it's finally time for some rest get the kids cozy with comfy sleep tents, a movie and some popcorn. No matter what you decide as long as the besties are together and having fun it's a PAR-TAY!!!
