It's that time again...what time you ask?
It's time for me to have my nieces over to the house for a slumber party. I always plan fun activities and some type of craft that will keep them busy and having a great time. So here is my plan! Food
When you have 5 pre-teen girls sometimes finding something everyone likes can be hard. I am going with a taco/nacho bar. It's easy and the girls can make their food however they want.
For dessert we are going to make our own funnel cakes. I have never done it before but I am sure it'll be fun. We LOVE funnel cakes so hopefully they turn out yummy! Activities
When my nieces come over we ALWAYS do some kind of fun cooking recipe, craft or game. We have done scavenger hunts, Nerf wars, pie making and fabric decorating crafts. This time around I asked what they wanted to do. We have ideas from a Nerf war, making slime and karaoke. BUT the biggest hit this time around (I hope) is going to be our version of hide and seek. My daughter said she has played a game called sharks and minnows that we have tweaked and added to our hide and seek game. We don't have name for it but we do have rules for it.
RULES 1. Arm yourself with Nerf gun and darts. 2. When the "seeker" is counting with their eyes closed find somewhere to hide. 3. LIGHTS OUT!!! 4. If you are found and shot with a Nerf dart-you and the seeker are now on the hunt for the other players. 5. Continue searching and shooting until you are only missing one player! That player is the winner and the new seeker!
Once the girls begin to slow down we start to settle in and we always end the night with movie and snacks.
What makes this slumber party a little different is they really want to go swimming so that's the plan for the following day. I love doing these parties for the girls. I hope that these parties keep the girls close. They are all getting to the age where friends are more important than anything and I want them to be each other's best friend.
