This year's birthday party was so much fun. Everyone really got into the Ugly Sweater theme! When guests arrived they were met with a photo opt area! There were photo props, Ugly Sweater pins and glasses for guests to use when taking their pictures. Food was easy this year. I decided to go with finger foods for easy and quick. The menu consists of: sub sandwich, chicken wings (drummies), toasted ravioli, chips, cheese and crackers and a fruit tray. We also had a Hot Chocolate Station and decorate your own Ugly Sweater Cookie Station. Once most people were finished eating I started passing out materials for the first game! This game was a drawing game. Materials: Paper plates, pens and directions found at Happyhomefairy.com Guests place paper plates on their heads (so they can't see what they are drawing) and listen to directions as they are being read. They try to draw the picture while the plate is still on their head. Each set of directions equals so many points. Once the drawing is finished guest tally up their points and the person with the most points wins a cool prize. Game 2 was one that most people had played before. It was the Right Left game. The guests sat in a circle and I handed wrapped gifts to a few of them. I read a story and every time I said right the gifts would go to the right and every time I said left they would go to the left. When the story was over whoever was left holding the gifts got to keep them! There are a ton of versions of these stories that you can find online. The next game we played was played on our phones. Kahoot.com is a game that I use a lot at school and thought it would be a hit at the party. Boy was I right!!! This game is a fast paced quiz game where you have to be the fastest and most accurate to win. The last game was the best! Everyone split into groups of at least 3 people. Their job was using the supplies given, wrap one of their teammates into the best looking gift. They could be as creative as they wanted with the supplies given. Supplies: wrapping paper, tape, scissors, pipe cleaners, ribbon and bows. Time: 10 minutes We had a great time!! A huge shout out to my brother-in-law for taking pictures and capturing all things ugly sweater for me! Check him out at Another Day At The Office Productions on Facebook!
