WELCOME HOME! I have moved to 3 new homes in the last 10 years. We even built 2 of the 3 and we never had a housewarming party. I've had a few friends and family move recently and that got me thinking about throwing a housewarming party. Here are some ideas that could be used to have a memorable housewarming shindig! InvitesYou can always go with pre-printed invites from sites such as Zazzle.com or Etsy.com, which will allow you to buy a downloadable invitation you can send out electronically or printable. You can also go with my personal favorite a DIY invitation. A few paint chips and a sharpie and invitations are done! DecorationsOf course you are just moving in so who has time for decorations? Don't be in a rush to fully furnish your place or hang every picture you own. Just be sure your place has a few pictures out, candles always make a space feel cozy and some greenery will look great as well. Good EatsThis is probably one of the most important parts of the housewarming party. Oh, who am I kidding? For me, food is the most important part of any party :) Finger Foods are the perfect housewarming snacks! DrinksDrinks aren't a necessity but a great way to add a little something extra and different to your party. Don't worry if you aren't a wine connoisseur. Simple wines and champagnes will do just fine. FavorsIt only seems fitting that you get your guests a little thank you for coming and celebrating your new home with you. Here are some ideas. Activities/GamesIf you are up for games and want your guests to do more than mingle here are some games that might fit your plan. Check out more Housewarming Party Ideas.
