So here we are! Week 12 at home. We've had some ups and downs but we are hanging in there. The highlights have definitely been getting creative and celebrating the kiddos birthdays. My oldest turned 14 in April and my youngest 7 earlier this month. Jaylah is a simple kiddo. All she wanted to do was see her friends and family for her birthday. After a day of school work we went on our daily walk and took some pictures. She had no idea what was in store. Her best friend came to decorate the yard and we added some other signage to make it extra special. We came outside to take pictures with the signs and that's when the parade began! Friends and family came from all over the city to wish her a happy birthday. They made signs and had cards and gifts for her. It was definitely very special and there wasn't a dry eye in sight! Her night was made with an Oreo ice cream cake her brother and I made. Jaxson is Turning 7My little's guy birthday fell on a weekend so we have to get more creative on how to celebrate his day - all day. I found a pin on pinterest of a little boy standing next to a giant to do list for his birthday and I thought that was perfect. The one thing Jaxson had asked for was a sleepover. I couldn't give him the sleepover he wanted but the sports themed camp out seemed to do the trick. He couldn't stop smiling so I think I nailed it! The day of his birthday we spent the day going through his to do birthday list. His special birthday surprise was a birthday video from all of his friends, family and teachers from school wishing him a happy birthday. I sent the videos from friends and family to my very talented brother-in-law (Another Day At the Office Solutions Group ) and he compiled them into an amazing video for Jaxson to watch. Here are some more Quarantine Birthday Activities:
1.Scavenger Hunts- indoor or outdoor 2. Camping In (build a fort and have a ball) 3. Virtual birthday party- dance party, play I soy, scavenger hunt, virtual games 3. Bake a cake or cupcakes 4. Birthday Parade 5. Summer Birthday- water balloon fight, sprinkler or pool fun 6. Movie Night 7. Drop off goodie bags, party hats and horns to friends 8. Sidewalk Chalk fun-let everyone know it's their birthday 9. Special video messages to the birthday boy or girl 10. Make it a "YES" day- say yes to everything you possibly can (within reason of course)
