Monday, January 16, 2017 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Many of us get excited about another day off of school or work, but let's not forget to take time that day to reflect and remember the importance of what Dr. King stood for.

Ways to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day
1. Reading, Writing and Math activities listed in Pinterest board above. 2. Checking out what Cities Around the Country are doing and tuning in whether on social media or TV. 3. Volunteer or attend an event celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. King. The Corporation for National and Community Service allows organizations to register their events on their page. You can also find some volunteer opportunities. 4.History.net- has 5 ways to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day inclduing videos, movie recommendations, discussions and ways to volunteer. 5. Students or kids can watch Our Friend Martin- video for elementary age students to learn more about Martin Luther King Jr. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
